Lake Quinault and the Olympic National Rainforest, December 2025

Listen to the rain…the rain stops and then starts again. Moments of clearing, fog gently lifts from the Lake Quinault and rises and laces around the vast evergreen forest of the Olympic foothills canopy. Nature’s gifts surrounds us. Large yellow and brown maple leaves, lush green mossy ground, lichen hangs high and low from the evergreens and deciduous trees, birds fly and hop about, and listen to the rushing flow of water as it runs down the Olympic mountainsides filling creeks and some emptying into Lake Quinault. Stay dry and sit a spell inside the historic cozy Lake Quinault Lodge, built in 1926, and visited by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, FDR, in 1937. Appreciating the Last Few Weeks of Winter in the Pacific Northwest by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

As we approach a new season and the last few weeks of winter will take a back seat, I'm reminded of the quiet beauty of winter and what nature unconditionally provides. Here are some favorite images I took celebrating the winter 2025 season.

Catching Autumn Color at Seabeck's Hood Canal

The sunrise, cool crisp air, crystal clear water, warm autumn color, fog layers, Olympic Mountains, seagulls, a fisherman taking his boat out to sea, tranquil and calm — this is what I feel and see as I look, linger, and take in the natural beauty of the Hood Canal, at Seabeck. A picture perfect slice of Pacific Northwest paradise.
