Autumn is a great time to visit Mount Rainier National Park. We entered the park at the Nisqually entrance and stopped along the way to take nature photos and admire Mount Rainier. We also enjoyed riding the Mt. Rainier Scenic Train and railroad. The old steam trains are very cool ranging from 1909-the 1920’s. Our train ride took through the alpine wilderness and along a few farms up to Mineral, Washington where old locomotives are salvaged for the tour operator. We saw Mount Rainier framed behind the Nisqually River at sunset which was pretty. Autumn color is beginning in the high elevations as noted in several of the Mount Rainier photos.
