Ballet dancers from Ballet Northwest and the Olympia Dance Center performed The ballet The Nutcracker while wearing PPE masks during filming of The Nutcracker in November 2020 at The Center in Olympia, Washington. Jolly Sienda Photography was there on Friday, November 13, photographing an enthusiastic and talented cast under the direction of Ken and Josie Johnson.

Poulsbo, Washington's Little Norway Provides Rich Culture and Fun for the Family!

Have you ever visited Poulsbo, Washington? It’s a Norwegian-style town settled in the late 1800’s by Europeans from Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. The town is known for its Norwegian old fashioned flair, vikings, colorful painted buildings, inviting boat marina, walk-able streets, restaurants, and shops. In the summer and winter there are viking festivals and art festivals on the marina. Families gather at the Austin Kvelstad Pavilion for picnics and in the summertime art festivals and musicians often entertain on the weekend from the pavilion. Liberty Bay provides a great area for boating, kayaking, water-sports, and a fireworks display over the 4th of July holiday.

With your camera get off Auto and put your camera to Manual Mode. Adjust the aperture and the shutter speed and use your ISO. The lower the number on the aperture the more light you let in. Using high numbers for shutter speed will freeze action. Using higher ISO number enables your camera to work in lower light conditions with more light. Does that make sense? Bainbridge Island Family Portraits and Paddle Boarding = Summer FUN!!!

Yeah, it’s a Pandemic and yes, we’re staying at home for the most part. So, letting go and allowing yourself to get creative with your camera or camera phone and have fun and relax — get into the zone —will probably surprise you because you will get great pictures and you will learn a few new tricks.
