Poulsbo, Washington's Little Norway Provides Rich Culture and Fun for the Family!

Have you ever visited Poulsbo, Washington? It’s a Norwegian-style town settled in the late 1800’s by Europeans from Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. The town is known for its Norwegian old fashioned flair, vikings, colorful painted buildings, inviting boat marina, walk-able streets, restaurants, and shops. In the summer and winter there are viking festivals and art festivals on the marina. Families gather at the Austin Kvelstad Pavilion for picnics and in the summertime art festivals and musicians often entertain on the weekend from the pavilion. Liberty Bay provides a great area for boating, kayaking, water-sports, and a fireworks display over the 4th of July holiday.

Autumn is the Perfect Time to Get Outside and Take Colorful Photographs -- Here's How!

Autumn is the perfect time to take a deep breath, exhale, and appreciate our natural beauty surrounding us. Get out there and seize the day! With your camera get off Auto and put your camera to Manual Mode. Adjust the aperture and the shutter speed and use your ISO. The lower the number on the aperture the more light you let in. Using high numbers for shutter speed will freeze action. Using higher ISO number enables your camera to work in lower light conditions with more light. Does that make sense? Capturing Autumn's Foliage over 24 Hours in the Puget Sound

It’s late October and time to get outside and enjoy the golden sunshine and the cool days — where wearing your favorite sweater is about all you need! Take a refreshing ride on a bike along a forest path covered with autumn leaves or walk in a park and just listen to the beautiful silence of nature. Enjoy, brilliant fall colors: crimson, amber, golden yellow, taupe, and orange —eye candy. And…it’s all here in the Pacific Northwest. The following photos were taken in 24-hours on the Kitsap Peninsula (my home base), and on Bainbridge Island at Fort Ward and Bloedel Reserve.
