Lake Quinault and the Olympic National Rainforest, December 2025

Listen to the rain…the rain stops and then starts again. Moments of clearing, fog gently lifts from the Lake Quinault and rises and laces around the vast evergreen forest of the Olympic foothills canopy. Nature’s gifts surrounds us. Large yellow and brown maple leaves, lush green mossy ground, lichen hangs high and low from the evergreens and deciduous trees, birds fly and hop about, and listen to the rushing flow of water as it runs down the Olympic mountainsides filling creeks and some emptying into Lake Quinault. Stay dry and sit a spell inside the historic cozy Lake Quinault Lodge, built in 1926, and visited by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, FDR, in 1937. Salish Sea Delivers T99 Orcas Killer Whales, Harbor Seals, Sea Lions, and Sea Birds by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

Happy Summer 2025! We enjoyed a boat trip with friends sailing from Anacortes, Washington on the Salish Sea and the Strait of Juan de Fuca passing Whidbey Island, and several of the San Juan Islands in search of marine wildlife. Two days of exploring the beautiful open waters granted us many wildlife sighting gifts. We saw sea lions and harbor seals, the T99 pod of Orca’s killer whales, lots of seabirds: Cormorants, gulls, and an oyster catcher with an orange beak and orange eyes, and American Bald Eagles. Seeing wildlife in its natural habitat is pure joy that we appreciate and do not take for granted. Photos by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio, East Bremerton, Washington.

Appreciating the Last Few Weeks of Winter in the Pacific Northwest by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

As we approach a new season and the last few weeks of winter will take a back seat, I'm reminded of the quiet beauty of winter and what nature unconditionally provides. Here are some favorite images I took celebrating the winter 2025 season.

Capturing Autumn's Foliage over 24 Hours in the Puget Sound

It’s late October and time to get outside and enjoy the golden sunshine and the cool days — where wearing your favorite sweater is about all you need! Take a refreshing ride on a bike along a forest path covered with autumn leaves or walk in a park and just listen to the beautiful silence of nature. Enjoy, brilliant fall colors: crimson, amber, golden yellow, taupe, and orange —eye candy. And…it’s all here in the Pacific Northwest. The following photos were taken in 24-hours on the Kitsap Peninsula (my home base), and on Bainbridge Island at Fort Ward and Bloedel Reserve.

Lavender, Eagles, the Coast, and Day Tripping Photography

The wonders of having a day to yourself is FANTASTIC! On these days, I love to do a day trip with my camera and rediscover favorite places while seeing new and wonderful scenes and nature. On this excursion, I chose to drive up to Sequim, Washington known as the Provence of Washington. I saw and photographed Red Winged Blackbirds, juvenile fledgling eagles in their nest, scenic coastal stops with bright yellow daisies, and purple lavender fields!!! Such a special day! And, I squeezed in a little shopping (lavender lotion) and stopped for lunch at a cute garden restaurant. Here are some of my photos from July 6, 2019 on the Olympic Peninsula!

Autumn Nature Photography Where You Live! Sign Up for My Photography Classes!

I enjoy all of the seasons of the year. I especially love Autumn and its rich, warm, colors; red, yellow, orange, purple, and green! When I get free time in the early morning or late afternoon to go outside into nature I’m feeling a bit of zen. Our earth gives us gifts of paradise each day to enjoy. When I get to play with my cameras and lens I’m really in the zone.

I’ve traveled throughout the United States in search of beautiful colorful landscapes to photograph. There are many. But, in fact, some of the best and most beautiful natural landscapes showcasing Autumn color is where I live - close to my backyard.
