I’ve dreamed of photographing a Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, celebration of life and lives lost for many years. This year, on October 31-November 2, I spent time in Santa Fe, New Mexico in awe of the beautiful and touching celebration complete with offerings, ofrendas, tributes to loved ones lost, beautiful and creative sugar skull and skeleton costumes, local tribal indigenous peoples blessings, and moments where I too was touched by the understanding and meaning of loss. We’ve all lost someone. This beautiful celebration is my first and will not be my last. Proudly, my work as a photojournalist and photographer is so humbled by what we witnessed in Santa Fe. Recent Trip to Oregon to See Crater Lake, Sea Lions, Lighthouses, and the Oregon Coast

There’s something about the change of seasons that makes you want to travel, feel the sunshine on your back, take in beautiful nature scenery, eat great fresh food and local wine and microbrews, take some photos and just relax! We did all of that and more on our late summer early autumn trip to McMinnville, Bend, Painted Hills, Crater Lake, Florence, Newport, Cannon Beach and Astoria, Oregon. Salish Sea Delivers T99 Orcas Killer Whales, Harbor Seals, Sea Lions, and Sea Birds by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

Happy Summer 2025! We enjoyed a boat trip with friends sailing from Anacortes, Washington on the Salish Sea and the Strait of Juan de Fuca passing Whidbey Island, and several of the San Juan Islands in search of marine wildlife. Two days of exploring the beautiful open waters granted us many wildlife sighting gifts. We saw sea lions and harbor seals, the T99 pod of Orca’s killer whales, lots of seabirds: Cormorants, gulls, and an oyster catcher with an orange beak and orange eyes, and American Bald Eagles. A Pacific Northwest Autumn Has Great Color - Just Look For It! Photos by Jolly Sienda Photography.com

Visiting the town of Port Gamble, Washington does not disappoint when it comes to vibrant orange, red, and yellow colors. Maple Trees planted along the main street add a pretty line to the white picket fences and historic homes of Port Gamble, founded in 1853. Visit the Buena Vista Cemetery too, circa 1956. Can be a little spooky with foggy weather. Two weeks later, we took a trip up to Lake Crescent and were delighted to see yellow and orange Larch trees spotted throughout the evergreens, entwined with some whisper fog. Lake Crescent was spectacular at at sunrise with brilliant color, some fog, and such crystal clear water. Lastly, the Norwegian town of Poulsbo, Washington with autumn foliage. Happy Autumn! Just spent three days in Yellowstone National Park and saw lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery, and not a lot of people — bonus!
